Ballet Teacher Sentenced For Sexual Abuse Of Child Student
An East Whiteland Township ballet instructor will serve prison time for sexually abusing a minor student.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A man found guilty of sexual abuse of a child while teaching ballet in East Whiteland Township today was sentenced to years in prison.
Alexander Boitsov, 68, was a ballet instructor at The International Ballet Theater in East Whiteland Township in 2015 when he sexually abused a student over a period of two years. The victim came forward in 2017 and reported the abuse, according to a report from the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
In January 2020, a jury found Boitsov guilty of 10 counts of Indecent Assault, one count of Indecent Assault of a Minor, and numerous other charges, the district attorney reported. The Court of Common Pleas sentence of 57 to 114 months means Boitsov will be incarcerated for a minimum of 4 and one-half years and up to 9 years, 9 months.

Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan commended the victim for having the strength to report the crime. "Despite the position of power the defendant was in, this young victim had the fortitude to speak up about his horrific abuse," Ryan said.
Court documents say Boitsov is from Hockessin, DE.
