'Beertenders' To Donate Tips To Chesco Domestic Violence Center
Malvern's Locust Lane Craft Brewing will help raise money for the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County on Saturday afternoon.

MALVERN, PA — Saturday afternoon in Malvern brings a chance to enjoy craft brews and food while also supporting services in Chester County for domestic abuse victims.
Locust Lane Craft Brewing at 50 Three Tun Road has partnered with the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC) for a first-time fundraising event. An in-person beer garden event from 1 to 4 p.m. on June 19 happens on the new outdoor deck at Locust Lane as guest bartenders donate 100 percent of their tips to the center. The fundraiser also includes the option of ordering a 4-pack kit to pick up so guests can join in from home.
Danielle Dougherty of DVCCC said, "This is our first time doing this type of fundraiser, but we have partnered with Locust Lane Brewery before. They are really supportive of us and our mission."

DVCCC served about 3,000 people every year through its housing, legal, advocacy, and counseling programs, as the only organization providing programs and services solely to victims of domestic violence and their dependent children in Chester County, Doughtery explained.
She said, "Victims of domestic violence come from all walks of life — including men, the elderly, and those in the LGBTQ community — and unfortunately, instances of domestic violence have risen during the COVID 19 pandemic."

Steph Eby is a "beertender" at Locust Lane as well as Marketing Manager. She told Patch it was a "no-brainer" to support the DVCCC fundraiser.
"Locust Lane has become a close-knit community and we think it is important to support the people in it. We see DVCCC as a valuable organization helping to make our community a better place," said Eby.
Locust Lane Craft Brewing began working with DVCCC as part of the brewery's Community Cup program and got more involved around the holidays with their Adopt-a-Family program. "When they reached out about hosting the Beer Garden Fundraiser, we thought it was a fun way to help raise funds and bring awareness to support domestic violence in our community."
"Beer Garden To-Go" kits for pickup can be pre-ordered here. The kit comes with a 4-pack beer of choice, a special edition pint glass, and a snack courtesy of Righteous Felon Jerky.
Locust Lane reminded those ordering that when asked to select their pickup location preference, they need to select "Taproom and Brewery."
Domestic Violence Center of Chester County also said anyone who needs to speak to a counselor or advocate may call the DVCCC 24-hour hotline at 1-888-711-6270 or 610-431-1430.
Anyone in immediate danger, call 911, said Doughtery.
