Chester Springs Mom Opening Sylvan Learning Center In Eagleview

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A Chester Springs mother of two found she really enjoyed helping her own children with their homework. Sangeetha Kondaveeti will open and manage a Sylvan Learning Center in Eagleview, starting early in October. The center will observe social distancing.

Kondaveeti worked in daycare before she decided to go into business for herself. With an MBA in human resources management, she believes the center will be successful and will fill a need in the community. "Every parent knows how important education is. Every parent want their child to excel in academics. Some need some personal instruction to do that."

The center will employ tutors, usually certified teachers, whose expertise is matched to the student's need. Sylvan Learning is a national company consisting of more than 750 centers providing K-12 supplemental education. Kondaveeti's Sylvan Learning Center will open at 148 Eagle View Blvd., Exton.

Kondaveeti explained that the center is a large space that can accommodate up to 18 students at a time while maintaining social distance. She said that learning services will also be available in a fully online format. "If parents are not comfortable," she said, "we can work online."

She said that in the current educational situation of coronavirus pressing schools to go online, there is "absolutely" a need for the kind of personal instruction Sylvan Learning offers. With classes online, some students can fall behind without extra help.

Recognizing that supplemental education is more easily accessible to some than others, Kondaveeti said that she will offer financial options, including payment plans. And, she said, "If everything goes well, I would like to set up a scholarship program in the future, for students who need the extra help but cannot afford the fees."
