County Prosecutor Arrested For Shoplifting In Malvern
The charge stems from a Dec. 31 incident at the Wegmans store in East Whiteland Township.
EAST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — A member of the Chester County District Attorney's Office was arrested for shoplifting in Malvern recently, according to court records and a news report.
Caitlin Erin Rice, 31, of West Chester, was charged with retail theft recently in connection with a New Year's Eve incident in East Whiteland Township, court documents show.
The charge was filed Jan. 3, and according to Daily Local News she resigned from her role as a county prosecutor Jan. 6.

She joined the DA's office back in 2015.
Daily Local news reports she is accused of not paying for $441 worth of items from the Wegmans in East Whiteland.

She is slated for a Feb. 14 preliminary hearing, court records show.
Rice, according to the Pottstown Mercury, graduated from the College of Charleston and earned her law degree at Temple University. She interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the county DA's office.
