East Whiteland, Malvern Named Among 'Best Suburbs To Raise A Family' In America

East Whiteland ranks fifth in the state and 23rd in the nation. Do you agree?

The township recently ranked seventh in Pennsylvania and 35th in the nation in a “Best Suburbs to Raise a Family” list, compiled by information services provider Niche.com.

Malvern placed 25th in Pennsylvania.

“East Whiteland Township is a suburb in Pennsylvania with 10,657 residents,” the report states. “It has very high home values, very high rent costs, and low unemployment levels. Its citizens generally have high education levels and very high income levels.”

The township was given an overall grade of “A+.”

The top suburb in Pennsylvania on the list was nearby Narberth.

New York’s Scarsdale, in Westchester County, took top honors nationally. Narberth was second in the nation.

The list analyzed the following factors for each suburb:

  • Crime and safety
  • Education
  • Access to libraries
  • Community
  • Housing
  • Access to day cares
  • Access to grocery stores
  • Percentage of residents 35-44 years old
  • Percentage of residents 9-years-old and under
