Founder Of Malvern's Vanguard John C. Bogle Dies At 89
John C. Bogle founded Malvern's Vanguard investment firm at 89 years old Wednesday, the company announced.

MALVERN, PA — Malvern's Vanguard said goodbye to its founder and index fund pioneer Wednesday, as John C. Bogle died at 89 years old.
The company announced Bogle's death Wednesday, saying he died in Bryn Mawr.
"His impact was indisputable, and his passion for investing and the individual investor will live on," the company said on Twitter Wednesday. "He will be missed."

Bogle — a Montclair, New Jersey native — launched Vanguard on May 1, 1975.
He is surveived by his wife Eve, neé Sherrerd; their six children, daughters Barbara Bogle Renninger, Jean Bogle, Nancy Bogle St. John, and Sandra Bogle Marucci, and sons John C. Bogle Jr. and Andrew Armstrong Bogle; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
