GVSD Announces Intention To Open Virtually

In response to county health department advice, the Great Valley School District said it will open the year virtually on Aug. 31.

MALVERN, PA — Great Valley School District announced its reopening date and intention to open with fully virtual instruction, as advised by the county health department.

District Superintendent Daniel Goffredo told families and school staff on Aug. 14 that GVSD would follow recently released guidance from the Chester County Health Department. Goffredo said the CCHD issued a recommendation last week that all Chester County schools begin their school year virtually and assess their ability to transition to a more in-person instructional model after Oct. 9.

"The Great Valley School District will honor this recommendation, and therefore all students will begin virtual instruction on Monday, Aug. 31," said Goffredo. "The hybrid model is no longer available to students for the start of the school year. Just to be clear, all students will be instructed virtually on Aug. 31."
