Student Removed from School After Gun Statements, District Says
The Great Valley student will not return to the high school, according to an email sent to parents.

A Great Valley High School student has been removed from the school after making statements about bringing a gun to the school, according to an email sent to parents Saturday.
A Patch reader and Great Valley parent passed along the email, the subject line of which was "Information Sharing (Safety)":
Last week, the Great Valley High School administration became aware that a student at the high school made some statements about bringing a gun into school. In accordance with our safety and discipline procedures, the student was removed from the high school and the District is now working cooperatively with East Whiteland Police and the student's family. We know that incidents like this rightfully cause alarm among our school community; rumors perpetuate that fear in our community. However, please know that the the student involved is now receiving professional care and will not be returning to school. We look forward to successfully finishing the 2012-13 school year and wish you a safe and happy summer.
