Longtime Paoli Woman, Beloved Community Volunteer, Passes At 84

1932-2016 - Janet Anderson, 84, formerly of Paoli, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at home. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Anderson with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Merrick. She attended Stratford College and worked as a Medical Secretary.

Janet was a member of the Paoli Methodist Church. She did a lot of volunteer work, fundraising for the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society. She also volunteered at her children's school and dental clinic. She was the East Whiteland swim team manager for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Ann Hudson.

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her children Linda (Jeff) Olsen, Kenneth “Andy” (Lynn) Anderson, and Elizabeth Anderson; grandchildren, Lauren, Kristin, Stephanie, Andrew, Kevin, Kyle and Alicia.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or the Make a Wish Foundation.
