Malvern Offering Free Shade Trees To Borough Residents

Email the Malvern Borough Shade Tree Commission by Feb. 1 so you can get a free shade tree this spring.

MALVERN, PA — Want to add some greenery and shade to your property? Well Malvern Borough has the answer, as the Shade Tree Commission is continuing its partnership with The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources TreeVitalize Program.

That means Malvern Borough residents can get their own shade tree free of charge.

All residents need to do for their shade tree is email the Shade Tree Commission at malvernstc@malver.org.

Free trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Email the commission before February 1st to ensure you get a tree.

High quality, bare root, ready to plant shade trees will be available to residents.

Since the borough began the partnership, more than 175 tree have been planted in the borough.

Small, medium, and large trees will be available. Species include cherries, redbuds, tree lilacs, yellowwoods, maples, sweet gums, elms, oaks and lindens.

Tree orders, size and species selection, instructions for planting and delivery dates are communicated to interested residents.
