Malvern Prep Joins Calls To Bring LeBron James To Philly

The private school posted a photo to its Twitter page with an edited version of one of the billboards put up in Cleveland recently.

MALVERN, PA – Shortly after a Delaware County company erected three billboards in Cleveland, Ohio in an attempt to lure basketball megastar LeBron James to Philadelphia, Malvern Preparatory School joined the fray.

The private school shared a photo on Twitter that featured a doctored version of a billboard posted near the Cavaliers' Quicken Loans Arena.

Instead of #PhillyWantsLeBron, the edited billboard reads #MalvernWantsLeBron. The photo is featured below.

Putting LeBron on the court with young Sixers stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons would instantly create a super team. Rumors have long connected James to Philadelphia, as the "Process" comes to fruition and the Sixers enter a championship window. They're also one of the few teams that would likely be able to afford James astronomical salary.

James, 33, has remained one of the NBA's most dominant players this season, despite the up and down season of his Cavaliers. He signed a three year deal with the Cavaliers in 2016 but could choose to exercise his player option to opt-out for the final year of that deal following the conclusion of this season.

Reactions to the rumors have been mixed.

While many are understandably excited about the prospect of bringing one of greatest basketball players of all time to Philadelphia, others, like SI's Andrew Sharp, question how well James could ultimately integrate with the Sixers on the court, and wonder if it would do more harm than good to shift all the focus and pressure from Embiid and Simmons to James.
