Maundy Thursday Service, Tenebrae, a Service of Darkness
Join us Thursday evening at 7:30. Experiencing the dramatic story, enhanced with beautiful choral music, our organ and a 6 piece orchestra.
Trinity Presbyterian Church in Berwyn invites you to join us on Thursday, April 18th, 7:30 pm for Maundy Thursday Service, Tenebrae, a Service of Darkness, featuring the music of Hal H. Hopson.
The services most people expect to hear about are joyful celebrations like Easter, but Easter becomes more significant if we take prior time for deep reflection of the dramatic events that led to Jesus’ death on the cross. Experiencing this Maundy Thursday service will help you understand this dramatic story, enhanced with beautiful choral music, a 6 piece orchestra with our beautiful organ, and 14 candles being gradually extinguished, a symbol of the increasing darkness of Holy Week, which makes the celebration of Easter more powerful. We will all partake in the Lord’s Supper which is part of this poignant story.
