“I am dedicated to helping all students reach their potential,” said Hoffritz. “At the elementary level, we build a strong foundation by engaging students in their own learning and encouraging them to take risks as part of a growth mindset. This academic challenge must also be accompanied by a focus on students’ social/emotional growth," he said.

He said he looks forward to working collaboratively with the staff at K.D. Markley to ensure that students and their families feel a strong sense of belonging in our school.

GVSD Superintendent Daniel Goffredo welcomed Hoffritz. “Dr. Hoffritz is an experienced leader who is focused on ensuring that our practices are equitable in meeting the needs of a diverse community. His ability to build relationships, as well as his focus on the individual needs of students, will allow him to make positive contributions to the school community.

Goffredo said Hoffritz brings experience in planning and delivering professional development that will help the district to continue to help teachers and staff members prepare to meet the needs of all learners.

Hoffritz earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University. His master’s degree in educational administration is from the State University of New York at Brockport, and his doctorate in educational administration is from Immaculata University.

Prior to his work in Great Valley, Hoffritz worked as an assistant principal in the Rush-Henrietta Central School District in New York. He began his career as a special education teacher, first in Maryland and then in New York state.
