Persecuted Authors Championed During Banned Books Week
Join AIUSA Group 342 in upholding human rights. Meet other dedicated individuals.

The pen, so much mightier than the sword, strikes fear in the hearts of autocrats. Amnesty International USA, joining forces with the American Library Association and PEN America, has launched its Banned Books Week campaign to free persecuted novelists, journalists, social media commentators, and filmmakers like Oleg Sentsov (just released 9/7). It’s up to us to uphold their rights!
We are Amnesty International Group 342, and we meet the third Wednesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 7:30pm. You’ll find us in Wegmans Café, 50 Foundry Way (at Rt. 29), Malvern, PA 19355. Join us to add your signature to petitions on behalf of those persecuted for the peaceful expression of their ideas. For more information, contact barbquin at gmail.com
Can’t make it to our meeting? Visit AIUSA’s Banned Books Week page and send one or more of the petitions. Your action can be the key that unlocks prison doors!
