Route 30 East To 202 North Ramp Closing Friday Night: PennDOT
Drivers in the area should expect backups and delays even with a detour in place, PennDOT said.

The ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to northbound U.S. 202 is scheduled to close in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships Friday, PennDOT said.
The closure will be in place from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, PennDOT said.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured to the Business U.S. 30 exit, then right on eastbound Business U.S. 30, and right onto the ramp to northbound U.S. 202, according to PennDOT.

The work schedule is weather dependent, PennDOT siad.
The closure is required to allow crews to work on part of a $26.4 million project that includes rehabilitating the steel superstructures and re-decking the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over the ramp and the adjacent Amtrak rail lines and replacement of the deteriorated concrete on the U.S. 202 ramps to and from the U.S. 30.
Construction is underway through mid-2018 on the northbound U.S. 202 bridge and on the ramp from southbound U.S. 202 to the U.S. 30, where one-of-the-two lanes on the ramp is closed. Both the bridge and the ramp are being rebuilt a-half-at-a-time.
PennDOT is maintaining two lanes of traffic in each direction on U.S. 202 while the bridges are rehabilitated. During construction on the northbound U.S. 202 bridge, the left northbound lane shifts to the southbound bridge as an express lane while the right northbound lane remains on the northbound side through the work zone.
The southbound U.S. 202 ramp lane closure may cause traffic backups, especially during peak travel times approaching the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass Interchange. Southbound U.S. 202 motorists traveling to the interchange should remain in the right lane, leaving the center and left lane for motorists continuing south on U.S. 202.
The ramp closure will allow PennDOT’s contractor to complete installation of shielding on the underside of the northbound U.S. 202 bridge over Amtrak and the adjacent ramp, and begin demolition of half the bridge’s concrete deck and parapets.
