Officials at West Chester University spent the weekend before the first day of classes battling with the Legionnaire's disease bacteria.

Officials at West Chester University spent the weekend before the first day of classes today battling with the Legionnaire’s disease bacteria that has been detected in several buildings on campus.
According to CBS3, the university has turned off the hot water in nine buildings, treating the hot water systems to kill the bacteria.
The buildings range from academic – Anderson Hall, Main Hall, Merion Hall, Peoples Building, Ruby Jones Hall, Schumucker Science Center South – to university buildings – (Messikomer Hall, Speakman Building, 13/15 University Avenue.

Officials at the school have reportedly stated that the bacteria levels are not cause for immediate concern. Classes began as scheduled Monday morning.
In July, an employee at the school tested positive for Legionnaire’s disease, a higher-than-acceptable level of the bacteria was discovered last month in cooling towers in eight campus buildings.
