West Whiteland 'Community Day' Postponed
Police, fire and SWAT personnel will be on hand to exhibit their emergency gear and vehicles on May 18.

Update 5/10/13 3:30pm: According to West Whiteland Police Sgt. Martin Malloy, the Community Day event has been postponed due to expected bad weather. The new date is Saturday, May 18, from noon to 3 p.m.

West Whiteland Township will hold its annual Police and Fire Community Day on Saturday.

The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the township building, according to the township website:
The Township’s newest police and fire vehicles will be on display with emergency services personnel on hand to discuss and demonstrate the uses and functions of their equipment and gear.
Among the presentations will be crime and fire prevention programs, as well as, infant car seat installations. As a special treat, the West Chester Area Regional Emergency Response Team will be on hand to exhibit and discuss their special weapons and tactics (SWAT) operations and capabilities. ‘Community Day’ promises to be a fun and educational event for the entire family.
The rain date is Saturday, May 18.
