1 Hospitalized After Sunday Crash In Delaware County

A driver was trapped inside a crashed sedan and firefighters spent 35 minutes working to rescue them on Interstate 476 south Sunday morning.

MARPLE, PA — One person was taken to a trauma center following a crash on Interstate 476 in Delaware County Sunday, according to first responders.

The Broomall Fire Company said its members as well as Springfield Fire Company, Marple Township Ambulance Corps, and Narberth Ambulance were called to the area just north of the Route 1 interchange on Interstate 476 south at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Those first on scene the single occupant of the sedan heavily entrapped and began working to extricate the driver.

After about 35 minutes, the driver was rescued from the vehicle and taken to a trauma center, according to the fire company.
