During the closing day, Delaware County Council Vice Chair Dr. Monica Taylor thanked those in
"I cannot thank you enough for the amazing work you have done here over the past four months," Taylor told the team. "Thank you to the Aston community and the surrounding communities for coming together at such an important time. The work done here was lifesaving for thousands of our residents."
The thanked citizens, the Citizen Corps of Delaware County, the volunteers from the American Red Cross, and the nurses and nursing students from Villanova University, Neumann College, Widener University, Delaware County Community College and General Healthcare Resources, as well as the Aston Township Police and staff and Stat EMS for outstanding effort during a critical time in the long fight against COVID-19.
The closure of the site was planned as the number of residents still in need of a vaccination dwindled and the county transitions away from multiple large-scale vaccinations clinics to more mobile community pop-up vaccination clinics.
Pop-up clinics operate in municipalities throughout the county and offer free vaccinations at churches, parks, fire stations, and libraries.
