$125K Mail Fraud Scheme Busted In Delaware County: Reports

YEADON, PA — A traffic stop led Delaware County authorities to uncover an alleged $125,000 mail fraud scheme that affected Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery counties, and Philadelphia.

According to Action News, Rhashaun Freeman, Zyier Williams, Naod Tsegay, and Basir Brown were running a mail fraud scheme and were caught in Yeadon Tuesday.

Fox 29 reports the men allegedly broke into mailboxes, found checks, then used chemicals to forge the checks to be made out to themselves in various amounts, as much as $7,000.

When Freeman, Willians, and Tsegay were stopped by police, they were in possession of a gun, the solution used to forge checks, 59 checks, and 19 debit cards, Action News reports. Brown is still sought by police.

Charges filed against the men include forgery, receiving stolen property, bad checks, theft, tampering with records, and firearms crimes.
