25th Historic Newtown Square Day Set For June 5

The event is free and includes colonial demonstrations, a Revolutionary War encampment reenactment, food, and more. See details here.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — June 5 will mark the 25th Historic Newtown Square Day and residents and neighbors are invited to enjoy all its activities for free.

The event will take place at the historic 1742 Square Tavern from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 5.

Attendees will be able to see how colonial soldiers lived during the Revolutionary War; see Lenni Lenape Native Americans; watch demonstrations of wool spinning, beekeeping, sheepshearing, and basket weaving; local art demonstrations, including quill and ink artist Ed Kane and colonial music performer/storyteller Robert Mouland; and various colonial children's activities.

Inside the tavern, attendees can enjoy the famous Square Tavern Ham Sandwich with free ale. Outside there will be baked goods and Thomas Jefferson's ice cream.

The Paper Mill House Museum, Friends Meeting House, Octagonal School House, Bartram Covered Bridge, and the Railroad Museum will all be open with on-site guides and activities.
