4,400 Feet Of Water Mains Being Replaced In Marple

The $1.8 million water main replacement project is one of several ongoing in Delaware County totaling $6.9 million to improve water service.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A $1.8 million water main replacement project is underway in Marple Township, according to Aqua Pennsylvania.

Crews are working to replace 4,381 feet of 8- and 6-inch cast iron water mains with new pipes on Lawrence Road.

The new pipes are the being installed between Veterans Boulevard and Springhouse Road.

Aqua Pennsylvania said the project is expected to be completed by November this year.

The work is part of $6.9 million in Aqua Pennsylvania infrastructure improvement projects underway to improve service reliability for customers throughout Delaware County.

This year, Aqua expects to replace approximately 45 miles of water main in Delaware County.

The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.
