Broomall Catholic School Earns National Blue Ribbon Distinction

BROOMALL, PA — A Broomall Catholic elementary school is being recognized by the United States Department of Education and was named a National Blue Ribbon School.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia said Saint Pius X Catholic School in Broomall is one of five local schools in the Archdiocese to be named among 2019 Blue Ribbon Schools.

Cardinal John Foley Regional Catholic School in Havertown, Mary, Mother of the Redeemer in North Wales, Saint Thomas the Apostle School in Glen Mills, and Saints Colman-John Neumann in Bryn Mawr were also as part of the 2019 cohort of National Blue Ribbon Schools.

Each school was chosen for this honor based on overall academic excellence.

These five were among only 50 private or religious schools in the country to receive this honor. Eighteen total Pennsylvania schools earned the honor.

Saint Pius X Catholic School and the others were selected as part of the 2019 cohort of National Blue Ribbon Schools in an announcement made by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Sept. 26.

Since that time the five schools have been honored and recognized for this elite achievement at various events locally, regionally, and nationally.

On Monday, Dec. 9 at an event in Hershey all 2019 Blue Ribbon schools received regional recognition at an award ceremony.
