BROOMALL, PA — A kids' gymnastics center in Broomall is closing after four-decades of keeping kids active.
Kehler’s Gymnastics Center announced recently that it is closing after 40 years.
"We want to thank the many tens of thousands of families who have trusted KGC for several generations with the instruction and care of their children," Director Russel Kehler wrote on Patch. "We had no idea in 1981 when we were just starting out, just how much we would grow and how many lives we would touch."

Kehler said the center is closing following Gov. Tom Wolf's coronavirus mitigation efforts, which included closing some businesses temporarily.
Families who have credit with the center will be contacted by the center and can contact the center themselves by emailing kehlersgymnastics@gmail.com

"The past nine months have been difficult for all of us, and we have hundreds of checks to write by hand, so we ask that you be patient," the center's website reads. "Our goal is to have every account balanced by Jan. 12, 2021."
"Watching small children grow up in our programs to eventually become adults, who would later bring their own children to share in the same experience they enjoyed as kids, has been one of the greatest joys of our lives," Kehler wrote.
Over the course of its 40-year history, the center expanded with satellite locations in Valley Forge, St. Davids, Ardmore, and Rosemont.
While this marks the end of an era, the center said it is using this time "as a moment to look back on our many successes over the past 40 years, and to celebrate the way that Kehler’s Gymnastics Center was so warmly embraced by tens of thousands of families in our community."
