Celebrating 15 Years with a Best of the Main Line Win!

From the Top Studio of Dance in Newtown Square is excited to announce that they have been named the 2018 Winner of Main Line Today’s Reader’s Choice for Best Dance Studio!

“This win is a perfect way to kick off our 15th Season of Quality Dance Education with a Twist of Fun!” says owner, Sheila Turner. “We have such an amazing community of supportive and generous families who took the time to vote for us and we are so grateful for this honor.”

Turner, a life-long Newtown Square resident, opened From the Top back in 2004 in a modest basement retail space. Her vision was to build a loving, supportive and inspiring studio where dancers of all ages and abilities felt comfortable and encouraged. “I wanted dancers to grow in a studio that was just like the one I danced with when I was young.” she says. Turner studied dance with Linda Johnston, a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette. She eventually began teaching for Linda and was awarded numerous regional dance and choreography awards. “Linda Johnston’s Studio was a safe place for us all to dance. She taught us with love and encouragement and it made a lasting impression on me and so many others.”

Miss Sheila's dream has certainly become reality as she walks into her upgraded location with 3 bustling studio spaces. The walls are filled with inspirational messages and pictures of her smiling dancers and Broadway Performers who've taught master classes at From the Top. It's a busy morning. Miss Sheila's on her way in to teach her special needs dance class which, has become so popular, that she now works with 5 area special needs agencies. Dance Camp is in progress, too – boys and girls are busy making crafts, learning dances and playing games. The start of the fall registration is underway and enrollment is strong. A real-life dream come true topped off with a real-big win! Cheers to 15 Years!
