Why are you seeking elective office?

I am running for the Marple Newtown School Board because it's my belief that a strong public education is the bedrock to ensuring a strong future for generations to come. I'm also a proud alumnus of the Marple Newtown School District ( MNHS 16'). Giving back to the community and providing a voice for younger people in our district, especially working families would be such a rewarding opportunity. We need to prepare our district for the future, and get more young people actively engaged in local elections.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

We should work towards a more transparent school board and make decisions based on what will best benefit our students, while giving families more of a chance to voice their concerns regarding the district, schools, etc. On top of this, the budget is possibly one of the biggest components to transparency in government, which is why it is critical to make sure that every tax dollar is properly spent.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

This election is about change, which is why I'm so excited to be running with my three amazing running mates, Sheetal Shah-Jani, Joanne Holsten, and Laurie Lynch. We believe our platform consists of ideas that can move the district into a more competitive position for the future, and promotes fresh opportunities to meet the moment. There's great people in our community, and by working together we can tackle the challenges ahead of us.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

The best advice ever shared with me was:

" Work hard, never give up, and stay humble."

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

One of our goals is to increase career days so students can have the opportunity to explore the various options available to them post HS graduation. As a younger person I understand that at 18 most students don't know what they want to do yet, but with the right guidance we can help students to find their true passions.
