Marple Police Detective Nick Coffin launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Niedelman's family.

In about a day's time, more than $64,000 has been raised as of 10 a.m. Friday.

The campaign's goal is set at $100,000.

"These funds will go directly to the Marple Township Police Association account, and then turned over to the Niedelman family," the campaign page reads. "This fund was established in the hope that his friends, neighbors and brothers in blue can assist Lacey and the kids in the tough days ahead."

Those who would like to contribute can also do so by mailing a check made out to the Marple Township Police Association, 1001 Sussex Boulevard, Broomall, PA 19008.

"On behalf of the Niedelman family, the Marple Township Police Department appreciates any support you are able to provide, during this difficult time."
