Delaware County Sees Decreases In All Key Coronavirus Metrics
Data from the Pennsylvania Departments of Health shows the six key coronavirus metrics tracked have seen a decrease in Delaware County.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The latest data on the coronavirus's impact in Delaware County shows positive trends across the board.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Delaware County's coronavirus metrics have all trended downward in the past week.
The state tracks six key metrics in all Pennsylvania counties.

And the week ending Feb. 19 shows all six of those metrics in Delco have dropped.

From Friday, Feb. 12 to Friday, Feb. 19, the newly reported cases went down from 818 to 621. As of Tuesday, 37,309 people in Delaware County have or have had the coronavirus.
The incidence rate per 100,000 people dropped from 144.3 to 109.6
Positivity test rates have gone down from 7.2 percent to 6 percent, as well.
Coronavirus-specific hospitalizations saw a decrease. Last week the average number of hospitalized coronavirus patients was 67, down from 91.7 the week before.
And regarding hospitalizations, ventilator use decreased, as well. The average number of patients on ventilators was 6.7 last week. That figure was 9.4 the week prior.
Lastly, the percent of people presenting at hospitals with coronavirus-like illnesses dropped from 0.7 percent to 0.5 percent.
