Delco Cop Saves Armed Man In Distress
A man who was in distress over the death of a friend had a gun, but a Prospect Park Police officer was able to get the man to treatment.
PROSPECT PARK, PA — A Delaware County police officer recently was able to get a man in distress the held he needed.
According to Prospect Park Police, Officer Mike Slowik helped an armed man who was under the influence and in distress following the death of a friend.
Police said Slowik, despite the man being armed and acting threateningly, was able to get the man in custody and took him to get help at a hospital and a local crisis center for treatment.

"The successful resolution of these types of incidents hinge on multiple factors," Police Chief Dave Madonna said. "One misstep by either the officer or subject could result in tragedy. Luckily the demeanor of Officer Slowik quickly brought this incident to a successful resolution. I thank him for a job well done."
