Delco Non-Profit Hosting Digital Silent Auction In October
Family Support Line serves and advocates for children who have been sexually abused. The group is hosting Bids For Kids online this year.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A Delaware County-based non-profit is gearing up to host its first virtual event with proceeds supporting its mission to serve and advocate for children who have been sexually abused in Delaware County.
Family Support Line's annual Bids for Kids auction is going digital in 2020 amid the coronavirus.
Bids for Kids raises money for resources to help children, families, and professionals address the trauma of child sexual abuse.

This year's event will be a silent auction taking place over one week.
Bidding, which will be done online here, opens at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 and closes at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Winners will be notified via text message.

A virtual celebration event will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 and participants are encouraged to gather with family and friends to watch and order takeout from local Delaware County restaurants that support Family Support Line's cause.
This year's items up for auction will be announced in mid September.
Items with the most bids in 2019 included lottery tickets, an Amazon Echo Dot, a Game of Thrones basket and more. Last year’s top auction items that raised the most money included a Poconos Mountain Vacation, 55-inch Samsung TV, and diamond earrings.
The 2019 event raised more than $118,000. This year's goal is $115,000.
Typically, the event is held at Llanerch Country Club in Havertown.
