Delco Police Lieutenant Found Dead In Patrol Car Over Weekend
Ridley Township Police Lieutenant William Henderson died of natural causes over the weekend in Folsom after serving for 31 years.
RIDLEY, PA — A Delaware County police detective lieutenant died of natural causes over the weekend while in his patrol vehicle, according to authorities and news reports.
Ridley Police Detective Lieutenant William Henderson was found dead in his patrol car the evening of Saturday, Dec. 14, according to the Ridley Township Board of Commissioners.
Action News reports Henderson died while in his patrol vehicle as it was parked outside a Wawa in Folsom.

Henderson is reported to have died of natural causes.
He served the Ridley Township for 31 years, first as a patrolman and working his way up to detective lieutenant, the commissioners said.

"He was an active member of S.M. Vauclain Fire Company and served as the Township’s Assistant Fire Marshal," the commissioners said in an announcement. "By all accounts, Lieutenant Henderson was a hard-working, well-respected member of the Ridley Township Police Department and an excellent example of service and dedication to our community. The Ridley Township Board of Commissioners extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lieutenant Henderson. Rest Easy, Bill, and thank you for your service."
