Delco Sees Primary Ballot Shortage, But Voters Still Cast Ballots
County officials said voter turnout exceeded the number of ballots by about 6 percent, but all Delco voters were able to cast ballots.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Some voters in Delaware County had long wait times to cast their ballots due to a shortage of ballots Tuesday, officials said.
According to the county, the shortage was created by a higher in-person turnout of voters than expected.
However, the county's ballot exceed the statutory requirements.

Officials said despite the extra ballots, voter turnout exceeded the number of ballots by about 6 percent.
But even with the shortage, officials said all registered voters were still able to vote, and no one was disenfranchised

"At all times, however, registered voters were able to vote on precinct equipment that generated paper ballots and emergency ballots as the County worked to print and deliver more paper ballots," the county said in a statement. "The County regrets that some voters had longer wait times and will exceed the state requirements even more for the November election."
