BROOMALL, PA – How much snow did the "bomb cyclone" drop on the Marple and Newtown areas Thursday?
Let's check with the National Weather Service, as officials with the service have compiled snowfall totals for the area following Thursday's storm.
According to the most recent totals from the National Weather Service, 4 inches of snow accumulated in Broomall. Other snow totals in the area include 5 inches in Bryn Mawr and in Media, 4.3 in Drexel Hill, and 4.4 inches in Berwyn.

In some places, the mega bomb cyclone storm didn't produce the accumulations one would assume would be associated with such a threatening name. But in others, like the Jersey Shore, the storm exceeded expectations and a worst-case scenario played out.

Thursday's storm forced the Marple Newtown District to close Thursday and Friday.
There are also some changes to the public transit schedule. Due to the harsh weather that has gripped the Philadelphia region, SEPTA officials have decided to enact a Saturday schedule for its Regional Rail trains on Friday, Jan. 5. Click here for details on that.
