Main Line Brewery Makes One Of Nation's Best Beers: Daily Meal

One of the Main Line's most prominent breweries has earned plenty of recognition, awards, and honors for the craft beers they brew up in the Philly suburbs.

And now Tired Hands in Ardmore can add another honor to its list, as the Daily Meal named one of their brews among the nation's best.

The Daily Meal released its extensive list of the 101 best beers in America, and Tired Hand's Alien Church was one of three Pennsylvania brews to make the list.

The 7 percent alcohol by volume "intergalactic IPA" is brewed with oats and mosaic, citra, Chinook, centennial, and Columbus hops, and its fruity notes make it great for summer sipping, the Daily Meal says.

Beer Advocate gives it a 4.35 out of 5 score.

As we mentioned above, the Main Line brewers aren't strangers to good press.

Craig LaBan, the Philadelphia Inquirer's food critic, said Tired Hands is one of his favorite spots to enjoy libations in the suburbs.

When listing Ardmore as one of the "Hottest Suburban Towns," Philly Magazine cited Tired Hands as one of the reasons the area is a great place to be.

Food and Wine magazine called Tired Hands, which opened in 2012, one of the "30 Best Craft Breweries to Visit in Pennsylvania."

Tired Hands was also nominated for a James Beard Award (called the "Oscars of the food world") in 2016.

To create the list America's best beers, the Daily Meal it cross-checked beer ratings on Untappd, BeerAdvocate, and RateBeer, looking for the beers that "average beer drinkers and beer-tasting professionals alike" have given the highest ratings. In addition, editors at The Daily Meal used their own tasting experience and knowledge to include some of the best brews they've encountered recently.
