Man Downs 2-Foot Steak In 1:34 At First Cheesesteak Bowl In Delco
Delco Steaks in Broomall hosted the inaugural Cheesesteak Bowl on National Cheesesteak Day and the winner crushed a two-foot steak in 1:34.
BROOMALL, PA — The first-ever Cheesesteak Bowl took place Wednesday on National Cheesesteak Day at Delco Steaks in Broomall.
In the inaugural competition, for which former Eagles tight end Brent Celek served as the commissioner, competitors raced to down two of Delco Steaks' signature 2-foot long cheesesteaks.
According to Action News, about 40 people partook in the competition to down two "The Delco" steaks.

Philadelphia Inquirer food writer Michael Klein reports just one "The Delco" contains 24 ounces of meat and 8 ounces of Cooper Sharp cheese.
In the end, it was Dan Kennedy, 38, of West Decatur, who was the first-ever Cheesesteak Bowl champion.

Kennedy downed his first cheesesteak in 1 minute, 39 seconds and his second in 1 minute, 34 seconds, according to reports.
In addition to the bragging rights, Kennedy won an all-expense-paid trip to Cancun.
Delco Steaks will be giving donated proceeds from the event to Coaches Vs. Cancer, which supports the American Cancer Society's efforts to save lives from cancer in the US and worldwide.
