"We are honored to be able to recognize these young leaders with the Good Citizens Award," said Alicia Peterson, the chapter regent.
Lee and others wrote 500-word essays, without advance knowledge of the topic, on how they would energize America’s youth to fully engage as effective citizens, and why that is important. Essays highlighted the importance of education, inclusiveness, youth empowerment and activism, and using social media as a positive tool of communication.
