This Newtown Square Spot Has Great Roast Pork, Philly Mag Says

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — A true Philadelphia-area native knows it's not the cheesesteak that is the region's best sandwich.

Rather, natives tout roast pork as the champion of sandwiches and many leave cheesesteaks to the tourists.

Philadelphia Magazine recently listed the 26 best spots for roast pork in and around Philadelphia.

Among the restaurants featured is a Newtown Square joint.

Philly Mag writers Alexandra Jones and Maddy Sweitzer-Lammé named Luigi & Giovanni’s in Newtown Square among the best.

Tender chunks of roast pork (versus the usual thin slices) distinguish this Best of Philly-winning suburban favorite. Need sandwiches for a crowd? Don’t worry, they cater, too.

A few other Delaware County spots made the list.

Tony’s Tavern in Collingdale, La Porta in Media, Broadway Bar in Clifton Heights, and John Morton’s Tavern in Prospect Park were all featured on the list.
