Pros Coming To Newtown Square Baseball Clinic Saturday

Some baseball professionals and veterans will be stopping in Delaware County this weekend to partake in a baseball clinic for players of all ages.

On Deck Training center in Newtown Square will hold a clinic Saturday, Dcc. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with some special presenters including MLB players and coaches.

The clinic is free and includes an open house of On Deck Training Center for area coaches, parents, and players of all ages.

Players and coaches with experience at the minor and major league level will share insider tips and demonstrate proven and innovative techniques at the clinic.

• Scott Oberg, current Major League Baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies
• Mike Bucci, former third baseman, outfielder and shortstop for the Texas Rangers and former minor league manager in the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians organizations
• Nick Mascioli, former West Chester University player and currently a strength and conditioning coach with the Pittsburgh Pirates
• Ryan Wheeler, current assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at St. Joseph’s University
• Alex Melconian, former outfielder and catcher for the Florida Marlins AAA affiliate team
• Chris Cowell, former catcher for the Colorado Rockies’ minor league affiliate teams
• John Cowell, head instructor at On Deck Training Center

Attendees will not only hear directly from baseball experts on how to succeed on the field and at the plate, but will also have the opportunity to use On Deck’s turf and cages, as well as the facility’s new, expanded training area designed to accommodate team and group lessons, according to a press release.

The clinic will also include AXE Bat demonstrations, swing analysis by Diamond Kinetics, Speed Pitch, raffles and prizes, and local vendors, the release said. Attendees will receive special discounts on lesson packages and facility rentals, according to the release.
