Two Public Coronavirus Testing Sites Open In Delaware County

Coronavirus testing is available this week in Upland and Darby. See details on each testing site, such as hours and qualifications, here.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Two options for coronavirus testing are available in Delaware County this week, one in Darby and the other in Upland.

Public drive-thru coronavirus testing will be offered at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby and the former U.S. Army Reserve site in Upland this week.

These sites use standard mid-nasal PCR Nasal Swab test kits.

There are no out-of-pocket costs or co-pays for COVID-19 testing at either site; however, those with health insurance are asked to please bring an ID and their insurance card. Masks or face coverings must be worn.

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, 1500 Lansdowne Ave., Darby

Testing is free and is available for insured and uninsured individuals 12 years of age or older who live or work in Delaware County and have coronavirus symptoms, were exposed to coronavirus, or are considered critical/essential workers.

Individuals must preregister online here to receive a test at Mercy Fitzgerald.

Test results typically take three to five days. Faster results can be obtained by
registering online through the MyHNLAccess portal. Details about the registration process can be
obtained during your test and on the MyHNLAccess page here.

The Chester County Health Department Disease Investigation team may call those who test to complete an investigation.

  • Monday — 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday — 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday — 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday — 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday — 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday — Closed
  • Sunday — Closed

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare at U.S. Army Reserve Center, 500 W. 24th St. Upland

Testing is free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis for individuals 3 years of age or
older.

Individuals are not required to show symptoms of coronavirus in order to be tested and do not have to be county residents.

No appointment is necessary, registration will be completed on-site.

The turnaround time for testing results is two to seven days.

Those who test positive will receive a phone call from AMI while individuals who test negative will receive a secured-PDF emailed to them from AMI.

Those who suspect they are positive or believe they have been exposed to someone with coronavirus should self-quarantine while they await test results.

Individuals who live with other people should self-quarantine in a private room and use a private bathroom if possible.
