Conversation in Bucks County PA. - "Do ALL Black Lives Matter?”

Martin, African American, retired Pastor with a booming voice asks the healthcare workers “Do ALL Black Lives Matter or just some Black Lives?”

Healthcare workers massed in front of an unnamed Bucks County medical center in Pennsylvania, enthusiastically repeat back to him, “ALL Black Lives Matter.”

There’s a moment of stunned silence, and then some scattered healthcare workers answer, “Yes.”

Martin reiterates, “Yes?”

The assembled white healthcare workers, more sure of themselves now, answer, “Yes.”

As the healthcare workers grapple with the question of black-on-black crime, which accounts for "94 percent of black victims were killed by other African Americans from 1976 to 2005." One woman positions her at the front of the group. She kneels, carefully holding a sign that, while difficult to read, seems to “say something about “white” people supporting black lives.”

Then, the Martin springs the 15.5 million baby question: “The black babies killed in the abortion clinics matter, right?”

The response from the healthcare workers is dead silence.

Martin respectfully said, “Thought so.”

The kneeling healthcare woman looks back at her colleagues for support, and then awkwardly stands up and sidles her way back to them.

But the conversation is not done.

The assembled healthcare workers have their rhythm back. “Yeah!” “Yes!”

So Martin rocks them off balance again. “But the black babies that are killed in the abortion clinics don’t matter, do they, healthcare people?”

A lone healthcare female says, “Their moms matter.”

Martin is having none of it. “Do their lives matter?”

The healthcare workers mumble inaudibly.

Martin asked again, “Does the future of our black babies matter?”

Again, a healthcare woman says, “Their moms matter.”

Martin thinking quietly: “What’s up? What’s up? Awful quiet now, aren’t they? Uh-huh. Then Martin asked: "Its okay if you kill them in the womb, right? But you have a problem when blacks are murdered on the streets.”

“It’s a separate issue,” says a healthcare worker.

Martin overrides that idea. “Yes, but we know that they’re the same issue. If we don’t respect the lives of our unborn children enough to save them and fight for them, our lives mean nothing once we’re born. And that’s the bottom line, isn’t it?"

Martin continued “we need to live by the word of God:” “If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face; and turn from their wicked way, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14

Martin asked “What does God say about abortion?”

The healthcare workers replied “Their moms matter!”

Martin “spoke about” Proverbs 24: 11-12 “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?”

Martin continues:

• “Too many black communities are economically stagnant, despite all the abortions. Martin finished with his final question:

“When does life begin?”

God’s word defines life from the womb to the tomb:

• “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Martin’s final statement: “The way out is God, not politics, political parties and media. God have mercy! "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
