Bucks Co. Company Makes 1,000 Masks
Based in Richboro, Vitalia Inc. shifted from custom window treatments to masks, which are going to first responders and hospitals.
RICHBORO, PA — During the coronavirus pandemic, custom window treatments aren't exactly an essential need. But masks that can help stop the spread of the potentially deadly virus are.
That's why a Bucks County business owner shifted her company's focus in the face of the pandemic — sewing and donating 1,000 handmade face masks in the area.
"The Vitalia Inc. team is feeling so inspired these days," wrote Vitalia "Vita" Vygovska, owner of Vitalia Inc. Window Treatments in Richboro, in a recent Facebook post. "Everywhere we look, we see people rising to the call, identifying a need and taking action to do whatever they can to be a part of the solution. It truly is a wonderful thing to witness and be a part of."

Last month, Vitalia's work room, which usually makes fancy curtains and other dressings for interior designers, shifted gears. With the help of multiple fabric vendors who donated fabric for the masks, they were soon cranking out 70-100 cloth masks every day.
The first masks went to Philadelphia firefighters and others have since been donated to other first responders and area hospitals.
