NORTHAMPTON, PA — The board meeting that will determine whether or not Northampton Township moves forward with a proposed Holland Super Wawa has been cancelled and may be rescheduled.

The proposed Wawa would house a market and gas station between Holland, Rocksville, and Buck Roads. At the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting on June 23, residents expressed opposition to the proposal through picket signs and public statements urging the board to vote against the Wawa. However, others online have also shared statements in support of the proposal.

Frank O'Donnell, the Board of Supervisors secretary, said that residents filed an appeal of the Northampton Township Zoning Hearing Board decision in approving the Wawa plans.

A meeting to vote definitively on the proposal had originally been scheduled for Wednesday evening. The Northampton Township Building and Codes’ Administration Department said that the meeting had been cancelled at request of the developer, Provco Pinegood Northampton, LLC.

The Board of Supervisors meeting to vote must occur before Aug. 31 for the plan to go forward, according to the Building and Codes Department.
