Bucks County Nonprofits Seek Support This Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to supporting nonprofits, is Tuesday.

More than 100 Bucks County nonprofits are seeking support this Giving Tuesday, which is Dec. 2.
During Giving Tuesday, which seeks to provide a counter narrative to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, “people are asked to remember that the spirit of the holiday giving season should also be about community, not just consumerism,” according to an announcement from local organizers.
All donations are made directly to the nonprofit through its own website.

“We’re excited to be a part of such a large national movement to increase charitable giving in our own backyards,” said Heritage Conservancy Membership Coordinator Tammy Schane.

Kathleen Welsh Beveridge, President of Spark Nonprofit Consulting, said the Giving Tuesday movement is valuable to local nonprofits.
“GivingTuesday provides an opportunity for local nonprofits to focus their attention on online giving. Most have established some kind of social media presence, but many haven’t figured out how to convert those efforts into donations,” said Beveridge.
People can donate to a nonprofit organization at any time, not just on Dec. 2, but the global Giving Tuesday initiative generates excitement and momentum, according to organizers in Bucks County.
