Fire Safety Awards Presented Nov. 14th

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Society (CPCU presented awards to the winners of the 36th annual Fire Safety In The Home Contest co-sponsored with the Council Rock School Board. Students in the Council Rock elementary schools were invited to write essays or create posters on the subject of fire safety during National Fire Prevention Week, October 6th - 12th. Each school in the district submitted its top entrants for the final judging. The panel of judges was comprised of School Board Director Joseph Hidalgo, Northampton Township Fire Marshal Frank Fenton and former Northampton Township Supervisor Pete Palestina, CPCU who is the coordinator of the contest for the CPCU organization.

The awards were presented at the Council Rock School Board meeting of November 14th.

The winning students and prizes were as follows:

1ST and 2ND GRADE CATEGORY WINNERS

1st Place $100 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Gabriel Cocco, Goodnoe Elementary

2nd Place - $50 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Johnny Reilly, Goodnoe Elementary

3rd Place - $50 cash,plaque,movie tickets: Sofia Ogrizovic, Hillcrest Elementary

4th Place - $50 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Andrew Sussman, Hillcrest Elementary

3RD and 4TH GRADE CATEGORY WINNERS

1st Place $100 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Alison Butkiewicz, Richboro Elementary

2nd Place - $50 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Trenton Wackowski, Hillcrest Elementary

3rd Place - $50 cash,plaque,movie tickets: Misa Jeiranashnli, Goodnoe Elementary

4th Place - $50 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Ichiro Gardner, Welch Elementary

5TH and 6TH GRADE CATEGORY WINNERS

1st Place $100 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Weston Wackowski, Hillcrest Elementary

2nd Place - $50 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Sree Allampally, Goodnoe Elementary

3rd Place - $50 cash,plaque,movie tickets: Brian Kiedaisch, Newtown Elementary

4th Place - $50 cash, plaque, movie tickets: Emma Paschai, Newtown Elementary

There will be another presentation on November 20th to be held at the Northampton Township Administration Building located 55 Township Road, Richboro. Northampton and Newtown Townships will present special citation awards of recognition. State Senators Tommy Tomlinson and Steve Santarsiero, PA State Representatives Wendi Thomas and Perry Warren and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick will be presenting commendations from the Congress, Pa House and Senate. If they are tied up in Harrisburg or Washington DC and unable to attend they will send their staffers to represent them.
