Free Document Shredding Event Set In Northampton

The event is designed to allow individuals the opportunity to safely destroy personal paperwork.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — A free community document-shredding event has been scheduled for this month in Northampton.

The event, hosted by state Rep. Wendi Thomas, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Council Rock High School South. The school is located at 202 Rock Way in Northampton Township.

The event is designed to allow individuals the opportunity to safely destroy personal paperwork. Organizers ask that no businesses participate.

"Identity thieves are growing increasingly aggressive in stealing your tax and Social Security numbers and bank accounts," Thomas said. "That’s why it is so important you securely destroy all documents containing your sensitive information, and the best way to do this is with a professional shredder. I encourage everyone to come out and take the proper steps in fighting this crime."
