Northampton Police Log: Fake ID, Criminal Mischief, & More

Northampton Police reported the following incidents last week.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — Police reported instances of fake identification, illegal dumping, and traffic accidents between June 7 and June 13.

Monday, June 7

  • Patrol responded to a business for a report of illegal dumping. Complainant reported observing an unknown subjects’ trash in his dumpster, and provided a name that was on a shipping label of one of the discarded pieces of trash. Patrol made contact with the subject, who claimed his handyman that works on some of his properties must’ve thrown the trash out. Complainant did not want to pursue charges.

Tuesday, June 8

  • Patrol responded to East Bristol Road at Churchville Lane for a report of a two-vehicle accident. One vehicle had attempted to turn right on red and accidentally struck the second vehicle. There were no reported injuries and neither required a tow.
  • A complainant reported that an unknown subject used her personal information to file for unemployment benefits. The unknown subject used the company that the complainant is still employed with to complete the application. The complainant's employer is already working with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
  • Patrol responded to Bustleton Pike at Elm Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle accident. One vehicle pulled in front of the other, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither required a tow.

Wednesday, June 9

  • Patrol responded to 2nd Street Pike at Locust Road for a report of a three-vehicle traffic accident. One vehicle rear-ended the second, causing that vehicle to strike the third. Multiple occupants from the vehicles were evaluated, but all refused transport for further treatment. The second and third vehicles were towed.
  • Patrol responded to the 2000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a report of a single vehicle accident. The driver stated that she swerved off the roadway to avoid striking a deer. There were no reported injuries and the vehicle did not require a tow.
  • Patrol responded to a business off 2nd Street Pike after a report of an intoxicated subject. After further investigation, two subjects were cited for underage drinking.

Thursday, June 10

  • Patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bustleton Pike and Sager Place for expired registration. The vehicle operator was issued several citations for possession of a fictious ID, possession of an alcoholic beverage, and expired registration.

Friday, June 11

  • Patrol responded to a residence for a report of a simple assault. A subject was taken into custody.
  • Patrol responded to Upper Holland Road at Bustleton Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first vehicle rear-ended the second. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
  • Patrol observed a disabled vehicle in the area of 2nd Street Pike and Twining Rd. Patrol assisted the vehicle operator with changing the tire.

Saturday, June 12

  • Patrol responded to Beacon Hill Drive for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One vehicle had backed into the other. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
  • Patrol responded to Village Shires for a report of criminal mischief. Complainant reports that an unknown subject damaged the front chrome grill on his Jeep.

Sunday, June 13

  • Patrol responded to West Buttonwood Drive for a report of a vehicle lockout. The vehicle was opened without incident.
