Northampton Township Veterans Day Event
Northampton Township will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 10, 2019
All are cordially invite you to attend the Annual Veterans Day service on Sunday, November 10th at 3:00pm. The ceremony will take place in front of the Northampton Township Administration building located at 55 Township Road, Richboro, PA.
Each Veterans Day the Northampton Township Supervisors and the Township Veterans Advisory Commission conducts a Veterans Day service. The purpose is to honor our veterans and especially township residents who served in our Armed Services. Although Veterans Day is November 11th, this year we are celebrating on Sunday, November 10th so our residents are able to attend. In addition, we are honoring Township residents, who served in our Armed Services, by placing a brick in our Walk of Honor.
Veterans Day is a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Veterans Day has emanated from Armistice Day, which was created by President Wilson in 1919 to commemorate America’s Victory in World War 1 and to express gratitude to the veterans who served during the war. The original date and time of observance was specific; the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month—to mark the exact time when the hostilities of WWI ceased in 1918 in what was hoped to be the “war to end all wars”.
