About half a million parents shared the names of their children with Baby Center to determine the Most Popular Baby Names of 2014.
For girls, Sophia has topped the list as the most popular baby girl name in 2013, 2012 and 2011 and was the second most popular name in 2010.

Emma and Olivia held onto their positions as the second and third most common baby girl names from 2013.
New to the top ten is Madelyn, which broke onto the list at number 10 this year.
Here are Baby Center’s Top 10 baby girl names of 2014:

- Emma
- Olivia
- Ava
- Isabella
- Mia
- Zoe
- Lily
- Emily
- Madelyn
For the boys, Jackson broke Aiden’s eight-year reign as the most popular baby boy name in 2013 and claimed the top spot again in 2014.
Caden and Logan made first-time appearances in the Top 10 at spot number 8 and 10, respectively.
