But if you’re feeling the blues, relax: odds are, there’s a National Something Day that will brighten your mood.
Today, it’s National Root Beer Float Day.

To celebrate, A&W is offering free root beer floats today after 2 p.m.
But since the closest one is all the way out in Ephrata, you can either make your own, or head to the closest Baskin Robbins. (Use their store locator here.)
If you’re anywhere near a Sonic Drive-In, they do offer them on their menu using Barq’s rootbeer.
Of course you can always make your own root beer float, it’s not hard; just head to the grocery store for some root beer and ice cream.
And for a unique twist on the old tried and true recipe, check out Philadelphia’s Art in the Age on 116 North Third Street. They’re experimenting with a new kind of drink: the ROOT Beer Float, an adult beverage featuring the company’s ROOT liquor.
Several bars and restaurants in the region will be serving this new sweet summer drink, including Silk City, Percy Street Barbecue, Continental Midtown, MilkBoy and Rush Lounge.
