The discussed plans to revamp at its Sept. 12 meeting.
The park, which has been the victim of serious vandalism, features a playground, basketball court and heavily graffitied gazebo.
While there is no definitive plan as to exactly how much will be spent on the park or all that will be done to hinder further delinquency, initial plans include running electricity to the site, providing lighting, and installing security cameras.

“The idea is to reconfigure the park to deter any future delinquency. Right now it has been vandalized pretty bad,” explained Chairman Mary Beth LaBelle.
Efforts have already begun to clean up the park. Signs and trashcans which have been destroyed or vandalized have started to be removed, and will eventually be replaced, and the park itself is being cleaned up.

Board members are debating what to do with the Gazebo that is graffitied inside and out.
“It was suggested that we donate it to someone who would be willing to spend some time fixing it up and restoring it. I think that it would be in our best interest to do so, because fixing it up would take more effort and money than we are willing to put into it,” argued LaBelle.
